The border between the Free State of South Africa and the country of Lesotho is unique and unsual. The Free State border most districts of Lesotho.  Lesotho is entirely surrounded by South Africa making it the only member of the United Nations that is entirely surrounded by another. The majority of Lesotho’s population ans Sesotho speakers and regard themselves as Basotho.

The majority of South African citizens who live in the Free State are also Seotho speakers.
Lesotho is very  mountainous in fact, the country’s geography is particularly unique and has earned it the title of Africa’s “Kingdom in the sky” – it is the only country in the world to be entirely above 1 000m in elevation and it has the highest lowest point in the entire world at 1 400m.
